Hip Hop - Last Stop!

You made it! Welcome to the last Hip Hoppin' stop! I hope you enjoyed all the school-themed inspiration along the way. I have a school card to share with you today - it would be great for a teacher, a student, or anyone who works at a school. I used the owl from Mix Up of Cuteness, and the plaid border from Label It. These are two really practical and versatile sets to add to your collection, if you haven't already!!!

(diecut and foam letters - Target Dollar Spot, patterned paper - KI Memories School Days)

Here is one more card using the May Kit of the Month. I scooped up some super cute American Crafts and Sassafrass Lass paper at the Scrapbook Expo last weekend, and I couldn't wait to use it! And it just works perfectly with that stamp!

And because I am the LAST STOP on the Hop this week, I am SO thrilled to be able to share a TREAT with one of you!!!! Leave a comment for a chance to win the Mix Up of Cuteness set - I'm telling you, this is one stamp set you NEED to have!!! (I'll pick a random winner Thursday night!)
Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Hip Hop!

CPS 117 Innovative Stamp Creations

Good morning! I am home-sweet-home from our vacation. We had a wonderful time, but it sure was nice to sleep in my own squishy bed again!!!

CPS is sponsored by Innovative Stamp Creations this week. Be sure to check out the CPS blog for links, and lots of beautiful inspiration!! I had some catching up to do, and had missed out on most of the girls' cards from last week - so I just spent some time at the CPS blog - what sweet inspiration!!!

This card is pretty clean and simple. I stuck to the sketch pretty closely, did some simple stamping, and sanded my white-core cardstock (from CTMH - love that stuff!) Added some faux brads up at the top (black Sharpie and Liquid Glass) I'm not sure where this button came from, but it fit perfectly!!!

Today we will be continuing to celebrate my sweet sister-in-law's graduation from high school. Hopefully in the next few days I'll find some time to work - I got some NEW PAPER from Scrapbook Expo (NEW Cosmo Cricket, SEI, Sassafrass Lass, and American Crafts) plus some of those fun puffy Thickers.
Enjoy your Sunday!
XOXO

Hip Hop Hooray

Happy Hip Hop! Although I'm spending the week on VACATION, I certainly couldn't miss out on the Hip Hoppin' fun, so here are two cards for you today, celebrating the USA and our heroes.

I used the Fun With Four Inches set to create the stripes on this first card, and once again (are you sick of it yet?) the scalloped spot from Birdie Inspiration. I just can't stop using that stamp! It was missing a little something, and then I remembered these little toothpick flags I had tucked away with my cake decorating goodies. I think it was the perfect touch! The foam letters are from the Dollar Spot at Target . . .gotta love it!

On this card, I used Unity's Just My Type alphabet to stamp "my" and the "hero"letters (as well as paper) are from GCD Studios. The star stamp is from Unity's January KOM. I love the distressed polka dot pattern on these stars.
And now, hip hop along to ***Lynn***

from Springy. . .to Spooky!

You know me, not always creating cards for the present season!!! This is a fun little Halloween card I made for the October CARDS Magazine call. . .they didn't want it. . .so here you go - enjoy!
I used some really neat SEI patterned paper . . .really fun stuff to work with! It worked perfectly with these Unity Stamps (the spider, the little web, and the word SPOOKY.)

Today we are heading from my parents' house in South Florida, to Orlando for tomorrow's set-up at Scrapbook Expo. My mom has the Close To My Heart booth there, so the men will unload the truck, and then us girls will set up the booth. Then on Friday, I'll do a little SHOPPING!!!! I usually go with quite a list of goodies to look for. . .this year, I don't have too much in mind. Definitely want to find some of the cute new stuff from Pebbles Inc, (like THIS and THIS) and I am in serious need of more STICKLES!!!!

Okay. . .back to the fun and games of vacation!!!
Have a great day!!
XOXO

A little birdie told me. . .

that it's VACATION WEEK!!!! As you read this, my sweet boys and I are spending some time at my parents' house, and then we're heading to Scrapbook Expo in Orlando. Fun! Fun! Fun!!! I always manage to come home with LOTS of goodies every year! Plus we'll stop at IKEA while we're in town . . .almost just as much fun as Scrapbook Expo!
This is a little card I made with some oh-so-stinkin'-sweet October Afternoon paper. I just love everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that October Afternoon creates! They are definitely one of my fave companies! Paired with my favorite set of Unity Stamps (Birdie Inspiration) and there's no way I could go wrong!!!

I have a few more posts for you this week, so check in, even though I'm out playing in the pool, wandering through the BEAUTIFUL Gaylord Palms Resort, scooping up LOTS of fun scrappy stuff, and drooling at IKEA. Have a wonderful week!

(card goodies: Unity Stamp - Formal Alphabet and Birdie Inspiration, Chatterbox patterned papers and embellies)
Our focus for Hip Hop today, are all of the lovely Kit of the Month stamps. Each month Angela puts together a fun and unique set of stamps, and it's always exciting to see what she comes up with!!! The card I created for today uses the birdies from the August KOM, and the sentiment, "delightful," from November's KOM. You can check out all of the past KOM's HERE.

CPS 115

A fun, simple sketch from CPS this week . . .lots and lots and LOTS of possibilities (well, aren't there always!?) This card, using paper from Carolee's Creations, got me started on a whole BUNCH of matching cards. I'll share the rest of the stash in a day or two! I had one 12x12 sheet of each of these papers, the brown gridded paper, the yellow dotted paper, and a sheet with stars (that I cut out.) I made about SIX cards from these three sheets of paper! So fun!
As always, it is such fun to see what each designer did to make the sketch their own . . .be sure to stop by CPS this week and check it out - and link up YOUR creation! We love to see what you're up to!

I'll be enjoying a day or two with my girly girls from college. One lives here in town, and two others are coming in for a quick overnight. It will be total chaos with lots of kids running around, and lots of catching up to be done, and I can't wait!!! I simply had THE best roomates a girl could ask for, in college, and they are still some of my dearest friends! Have a great day!

Happy Mama's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!
This is the card that I made for MY mom this year. All of the products are from Close To My Heart. I paper-pieced the dress and hair on the little stick-mama, and the circles on the bottom are punched from patterned paper.

Have a wonderful day!!! We are off to church, then brunch, then hopefully a nice long NAP!

XOXO

Happy Scrappy Hip Hop!

Happy Scrappy Hip Hop! This week there are all sorts of SCRAPPY stamps on sale in the Unity store! Be sure to stop by, and STOCK UP on some deals! I have two cards to share with you today . . .two quick and easy cards. (Those are the best kind!!) This first one uses Birdie Inspiration - one of my current favorite stamp sets! This card seriously took like FIVE minutes. The patterned paper is all one sheet, which makes this card SUPER EASY to whip together. I just stamped on it, and threw it together!

Another quick and easy card, featuring the May Kit of the Month. I put this together pretty quickly too, although I knew it was missing SOMETHING, so after pondering it overnight, it suddenly dawned on me that I had this red fiber from CTMH, which was perfect to tie around the bottom.

And now, hop along to miss ***Amber***

and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

two of my favorite things. . .

a colorful card . . .
and a cake.
Two of my favorite things!
It's been quite a while since I really decorated a cake. If you've stuck with me for quite a while, you'll remember I LOVE cake decorating. But the months of morning sickness sort of put a damper on the whole BAKING thing, so it felt good this past week, to scoop up some sugary sweet frosting and decorate away! The cake pan is a KitchenAid silicone pan which gave me the outline and shape of the sunflower. All I did was "color it in". :)

The card is using that fabulous "Surprise" line from Scenic Route - I just can't get enough of these bright colors!!! There was a card in the last issue of PaperCrafts, I'm so sorry I don't remember who made it, but it featured a bunch of little squares of patterned paper - and it totally rocked! What a FABULOUS way to use up lots of little scraps!! (All the little scraps I can't bear to part with!) (And the cute sentiment is from Hero Arts.)

Hey, one other tidbit for you. . .Apron Strings Designs has a new blog! Go check them out. I am so happy to be a card designer for them every few months - they have terrific scrapbooking AND card kits. (And I might just have a giveaway from them, to share with you, before too long!)

Have a great day!

CPS 114

Our sponsor at CPS this week is Sweet N Sassy Stamps. We've used their cute clear stamps in the past at CPS - but NOW, they also offer DIGITAL stamps. You simply print out the images, whatever size you want, on whatever paper you want, and work the same way you normally would! Pretty cool, huh? I used this cute BLAST OFF set . . . I printed the image and sentiments on white cardstock, and used colored pencils to color the image. I paired it with some of that cute Prima DUDE paper, and the whole thing just came together!
Have a terrific Sunday!

A Challenge, and a NEW Kit!!!!

HAPPY WEEKEND!! It's been a busy whirlwind of a week, hasn't it?
Today is May First. . .and that means a NEW Kit of the Month at Unity! Here it is. . .
It's beautiful, isn't it?!
It's also the start of the next Unity Guest Designer Challenge. You can find all the details on the SCS forum. This is my card, based on this month's sketch. Basically, you use the sketch, and your April Kit of the Month, for your chance to be the next Guest Designer!
I used my favorite (well, favorite for right now) Scenic Route paper to create this fun, colorful card.

Check out the other designers who created a card for this sketch!
