a pocket full of HIP HOP

I hate to make you jealous, but as you read this, I am lost amongst a sea of stampy, scrappy, crafty wonderfulness at CHA, baby! Granted, I've probably stopped by now, at the nearest chair (or the chair nearest the food or bathroom) and parked myself there. But at CHA nonetheless!
I have a card using the July KOM to share with you today - Sassafrass Lass paper, and the cute cute pocket stamp. This stamp has such potential!!! I was thinking about how cute this pocket would be with a gift card sticking out of it!! All of the stamps you see here are in the July kit of the month. And have you enjoyed some sneak peeks of the AUGUST kit of the month??? (Check back here tomorrow, and I'll have a sneak peek of my own, using the August kit!)

I'll also be back next week to share a full report of my day at CHA!!! Hope you are having a happy happy hip hoppin' day . . . . . and now,

hop on to ***LISA***

soakin' in the summer

I seem to keep flitting back and forth between summer cards, and CHRISTMAS cards. . .. so today, we are back to SUMMERTIME! It's a LITTLE comforting seeing the autumn decorations out at the craft stores now . . . .but unfortunately fall weather is still quite a ways away down here in Florida. (At least we're heading in the right direction though!)

Part of my giant stack of paper I am FORCING myself to use up, before accumulating another single scrap of paper, is this darling paper from Sassafrass Lass. I am such a fan of Sassafrass Lass lately. And this card was so simple. . . .I just put a bunch of scrap strips together, and matted it on some Core'dinations Cardstock, and added my stamped images. I stamped the lantern image in black, but then paper-pieced them in other colors, popping some up on foam tape.

This card makes me ready for an evening BBQ, and some smores toasting in the firepit. Want to join me!?

another holly jolly summer day

As we head off to the swimming pool, I thought I would pop in and share a Christmas card. I don't think I shared this one yet. . . .(I hope not!) I stamped the background using the sentiment from the Merry and Bright set from Unity. I love the way it turned out!!! The trees are a single stamp from Unity, that I paper-pieced and added some Liquid Glass on the ornaments.

This is definitely one of my favorite recent cards! And now. . . .off to the pool for the afternoon, and out to a wedding this evening! Have a wonderful weekend!

And a Hip Hop in a Pear Tree

What is it about FRUIT stamps? They are such fun, aren't they? Who thought FRUIT would be trendy!!!? This little pear is one of my favorite stamps in Unity's July Kit of the Month. I PAIRED (peared. .. ha ha) it with some cheery October Afternoon paper, ribbon from Renaissance By Design, and a Scenic Route rub-on.
Below, is a cute little gift tag that I put together with my scraps. I think it's about 2x3in. Just a cute little something extra.
And how about that sweet starry July Incentive kit?? Here's a quick card using purple. . .yes, PURPLE. I can't EVER work with purple, but I thought maybe I could pull this off, as I try to use up a major stash of paper and cardstock!

Next week, I will be at CHA during Hip Hop, but never fear, I will schedule my post in advance (let's hope Blogger has worked out all its kinks!!!) and I will have lots of pictures to share after I get home!!!!
And now, hop hop hop over to the super talented ***Shemaine***, one of our fabulous July Guest Designers! Have a wonderful day!!!

just rite!

I thought that this cute cherry paper was JUSTRITE for this Cutie Pie stamp, from JustRite Stampers. They are our sponsor for CPS this week, and they are always oh-so-generous to us!!! I have spent the entire evening continuing to edit and upload pictures from the past six months, so I must keep this short and SWEET. . . .I am exhausted! But be sure to take a minute and stop by the CPS blog and check out all the inspiration! Have a wonderful day!

loving the trees

in this month's Apron Strings kit, there is some BEAUTIFUL fun paper from Bella Blvd. This is the first time I have used their paper - and I must say, I TOTALLY ADORE IT!!!! (and must get my hands on MORE!) I had fun cutting out the trees from one of the sheets from the Family Tree line. Here are two cards I made with it, and some of the other beautiful goodies in the Apron Strings kit!
We are having a nice quiet day at home today, doing a little of this and that (Legos, dishes, "air hockey" across the coffee table using quarters, laundry, and catching up on the pile of papers that ALWAYS seems to accumulate on the kitchen counter. How does it CONTINUALLY happen!?) Hopefully by the end of the day I will feel more caught up on life around this house!
OH, and my BIG BIG news. . . .after going back and forth for WEEKS, I have made the decision, that I AM going to CHA for a day!!!!! I am sooo excited. I don't know how my body is going to handle all the walking, but I just couldn't be two hours away and NOT go. I have a hotel room booked, and I am committed! Can't wait! Now to find something cool, cute, and comfy to wear. Hmmmm.
Have a wonderful weekend!
XOXO

Hip Hoppin'

It's Hip Hop day once again. . .and it just reminds me how the weeks are FLYING by! (which is good. . .and not-so-good!)

I was thinking that this Barbecue King card could be good for Fathers' Day, a summer birthday, or a BBQ invitation. I did a couple of wacky things on this card. . .I was out of the letter "n" from my Thickers so I used a "z" instead. And also, the foam Thickers are tan - and it just didn't give my card enough POP, so I colored them with a black Sharpie! I paper-pieced the grill, and added a little Stickles to the smoke. (Stickles, and Thickers, and Unity. . .some of my favorite things!)

I hope you are having a WONDERFUL Hip Hop Thursday! You've almost made it. . .

so hop along now to ***HEATHER B!***

lovin' christmas in july

Gotta love some more cool weather thoughts in this steamy month of July! Here are two cards I made using Unity's Merry and Bright stamps. The color in these cards photographed a little wonky, and I couldn't seem to get it quite right - not sure what happened, but I think these two cards are a lot cuter in person! (I hate it when that happens!)
Hope you have a merry and bright day, in the middle of July!!!!
See you on Thursday for Hip Hop!

CPS 124 and the baby shower

Happy Sunday! Sorry I've been neglecting my poor little blog all weekend, but my parents have been in town, and we've been busy playing and shopping and celebrating at a baby shower at our church, yesterday.
First, I'd like to share a simple card I did, using more (yes, more) Cosmo Cricket paper. I can't get enough of it! The colors, and patterns are so bright and retro and fun. I just love it. This card is based on Tami's CPS sketch, number 124 for this week. It's a sponsor free week, which means we all get to use whatever product we want - so look for lots of variety on the CPS blog this week! :)
And here's a quick picture of me, and my boys (my little man, my husband, and there's my dad in the background!) opening presents at the shower yesterday. We received a lot of nice gifts, played some fun games, and ate lots of yummy food!
Here's hoping for a great big NAP this afternoon! Have a great Sunday!!!

Hip Hoppin' Happy!

Happy Thursday everyone!!! So, seriously. . .how happy does this sunshine stamp make you? I think it just just the cutest thing! You can use it for journaling. . .or stamping a sentiment in. . .or completely on its own, as the adorable little image that it is! Sunshine, YOU make me HAPPY! :)

Hip Hopping along the blog hop makes me happy too!!!!
Be sure to hop along to ***AMBER*** next!!!

the bees knees (CPS 123)

Oh how much fun I had playing with these Sweet N Sassy stamps, this week's CPS sponsor, and this bright, fun American Crafts paper. How CUTE is that bumblebee???? I paper-pieced the flower and bumblebee, and added some Diamond Stickles to the bee's wings.
I just loved the bees so much that I made this little tag with my scraps, and another sentiment from this cute stamp set. You can check out the goods HERE (and they're even on sale right now!)
Have a terrific Tuesday!!!!

Wishing you. . .

Here's my little man, in desperate need of a haircut, wishing you . . .
a happy 4th of July!

and another Apron Strings card from the July kit . . .this is a pretty neat little stamp, included with the kit. Pretty versatile! :) I used a brad (also in the kit, of course) to mark the word "birthday" and I did some trimming and cutting and using of scraps to create the background of this card. I am pretty happy with how it turned out!
I hope your day is filled with fireworks and BBQ's! Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
XOXO

Hip Hoppin' Summer style

Hello Hip Hoppers!!!! Today we are celebrating the July Kit of the Month . . .have you seen it yet!? Ironically it showed up in my mailbox yesterday - but I FORGOT TO CHECK THE MAIL!!!! (So at 9:30 last night when my husband came home with the mail, I was soooo irritated that I wasted all that time I could have been playing with it!) So for today, let me share a super fun project using Retro BBQ. Have I MENTIONED how much I love this stamp set!!!??
I paper pieced the lemonade glasses, and had fun with some Liquid Glass and lots of Stickles (as you can see more clearly in the close-up shot. It's really sparkly and shiny and I just LOVE the way it turned out!!! :)
(card goodies: stamps - Unity's Retro BBQ set, striped paper - October Afternoon, dotted paper - Sassafrass Lass, Liquid Glass - CTMH, ink - StazOn)

And now, without further ado, hop on to ***Jennifer***

another new month? already!?

ACK! The days are flying. . .which means the weeks and months are too!!! In some ways, this is a VERY good thing (because at most moments of the day, I am totally OVER this whole pregnancy thing!) But at the same time, once each day is gone - it's GONE, so we all need to be making the most of it. Plus the days are rolling much closer to my little man starting preschool, which at this moment, is sounding a little traumatic! Perhaps that has something to do though, with the impending birth of a baby AND a child starting preschool all within two weeks of each other. (Talk about giving this poor mama a heart attack!!!)

Because the month of September is going to be. . .well, JUST a little bit busy, the sweet ladies at Apron Strings let me rearrange my designing schedule, and I got the lucky opportunity to design last month as scheduled, plus THIS month in place of September. Two months in a row - man, I am SPOILED!!! So today, as it is the FIRST OF JULY. . . . I hope you like this card I made with the July Apron Strings All Year Cheer Card Kit. This is one of my favorites this month. This card features some Chatterbox and BasicGrey papers, the SUPER CUTE chipboard birdie, and some amazingly beautiful ribbon. Check back soon for my Apron Strings GIVEAWAY too - the ladies gave me some goodies to SHARE!!!!! (Be sure to hit the Apron Strings blog too. . .lots of cute inspiration over there!)

And the FIRST OF THE MONTH also means, its time to catch a full glimpse at the July Kit of the Month at Unity Stamp Company!!!! I am so anxious to find this baby in my mailbox!!!! (Wait till you see the cloud stamps!) Bop on over to Angela's blog today, and I am sure you will find all the info you need to know!!! :)

Man, I had lots to share today. . .I hope you'll head over and visit Apron Strings and Unity today. And be back here tomorrow - for I have my NEW FAVORITE Unity card to share during Hip Hop Thursday!!!

Have a great day chickies!!!
XOXO
