CPS 144

Good grief, I have seriously fallen off the blogging bandwagon. Here I am though, back in business. I have a bunch of cards I will be able to share over the next few weeks, so I promise I will be around more!!! This week CPS has been sponsored by Clear and Simple Stamps. I went for a sort of chic modern look for this baby shower invitation. I paper-pieced the koala, used my faux brad technique (Sharpie and dimensional glaze) and kept it super clean and simple. It's different. . .but I think its kind of cool!

We had a great Thanksgiving with my family. My grandparents and uncle got to meet Tanner for the first time, and we had lots of yummy food!!! Today I need to unpack, clean, and grocery shop! We got our Christmas tree last night, so I need to dig out all the goodies to decorate this week before we head to SeaWorld on Thursday!
I'll be back tomorrow to share some BRAND NEW goodies from The {Stamps} of Life!!
XOXO

CPS 143.. .me falling apart!

Don't I usually post my CPS card (in theory) on Sundays? Or Mondays at the latest . . .but I seem to be flying by the seat of my pants these days.
And I don't expect it to stop anytime soon.
Thanksgiving with my parents, a dentist appointment, Black Friday shopping, celebrating my dad's birthday, and a 6+ hour car ride there and back (we leave tonight!). . . .after that, there's decorating and a tree to buy. . .then next weekend is the biggest kiddo's birthday, and a trip to SeaWorld. And the next weekend is that 5 year old's birthday party. And then, low and behold we're - what - two weeks away from Christmas? And I still have calendars and biscotti to make! And a few days after Christmas, we leave for another trip.

I have to go - I think I need a nap.

it's almost TURKEY TIME!

It's almost time for TURKEY!!!! I have been saving this little placecard project to share with you. I used the Build a Turkey stamp set from Unity, as well as some alphabet stamps to create a placecard. Wouldn't a set of these be cute on a Thanksgiving table?

I don't know WHERE I have been all week . . .sorry for the lack of posting! I have a million projects due December 1st, so I will have LOTS to share in the coming weeks!!! (New fun goodies - ooh la la!!!!)

We are off to St. Augustine tonight for their annual Nights of Lights celebration. It was a major tradition when hubby and I were in college, and since getting married it has continued to be a major tradition in our family!! I've only missed one year since 1996! It's definitely a kick-off to our holiday season, and a great time to catch up with old friends.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
XOXO

CPS 142 and some sweet new cardstock!

Hello! Hello! I am happy to be selling a lot of stamps from the post below. . .be sure to check it out if you are looking for some stamps to buy! (Aren't we all ALWAYS looking for stamps to buy!?) ;)
CPS's sketch this week is sponsored by My Favorite Things. I used this cute teapot from MFT, some October Afternoon patterned paper, a sticker from K&Company, plus some cardstock from a NEW company - called Couture Cardstock. They sell textured and smooth cardstock in a variety of weights. This red cardstock from their Seduction collection - a monocromatic collection of beautiful pinks and reds. The brown cardstock is from the Confectionary collection. (I was sold on the name alone!!! Yumm!)
Once again, I feel as though I haven't had a chance to sit down and work in WAY too many days. I sense a batch of projects due at the end of the month, looming before me though - so sometime between the Thanksgiving festivities, and a baby who likes to eat all night, I must find some time! We are taking that eating-baby on his first roadtrip for Thanksgiving. Six hours in the car. I might need a STRONG drink after that trip!!! Hopefully it will go well, as we are planning to travel again the week after Christmas . . .and I don't want to be dreading it!
Have a wonderful week! I'll be back here tomorrow with a Sweet 'n Sassy card!!
XOXO

rustic christmas

A few months ago CPS was sponsored by Jillibean Soup, and I've been loving using up every bit of the generous assortment of paper we were given. I created these two cards with The {Stamps} of Life November stamp set. These cards remind me of Christmas in my parents' cabin in North Carolina. Sort of rustic and warm, cozy colors. I hardly ever use "traditional" colors on my Christmas cards - but I like the way these turned out!!!

You can check out the November set of Stephanie Barnard's stamps HERE!

sweet n sassy and CPS 141

I used my Sweet 'n Sassy stamps to create this week's CPS card. You can see this card over on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog today too. I finally found some time to make some cards this week. The moments have been few and far between these days! I always think I will work in the evening after the kiddo and the baby are in bed . . .but by the time that happens, I am ready to CRASH!
I guess I better sleep when I can, because there are nights like last night, where I was giving the baby a bath at 4am, thanks to a. . .umm. . let's just say. .. "diaper incident" which just couldn't be cleaned up with anything less than a full bath (and a rug, changing pad, pajamas and sheets which had to go in the washer.) Never a dull moment!!! And then just a few hours later I was cleaning spit-up off the couch.
Thank goodness for Resolve, Febreeze, and Oxyclean!
XOXO

humor me. ..

I just had to share my sweetie pies.
We sat outside this evening.
We sat on a blanket.
The blanket that my parents have had since they got married.
It's brown and sort of unattractive. . .but I love it.
We read some books.
We looked at a Bob the Builder magazine.
Tanner looked at the sky in amazement.
Bryce did crazy jump-in-the-air tricks and threw a ball around.
We enjoyed the beautifully perfect weather.
Tanner would have fallen asleep laying on that blanket, if I had let him.
Perfection.
I hope you enjoy a breath of fresh air this weekend.
XOXO

some more christmas cheer

Did you check out the new stamp set from Stephanie Barnard's The {Stamps} of Life yet? If not, click here to see the cute winter stamps! I combined the November stamp set, along with a stamp from the September set (the dotted circle) to create this card. I probably said it last month, but it's so cool how the sets each month work together, and build upon each other. . .making the possibilities ENDLESS!!! With each stamp set I use, I find myself pulling out the previous month's set to see what else I can come up with! You'll find lots more inspiration in the gallery with all of Stephanie's stamps.

I will have some more work to share with you throughout the month using Sweet 'n Sassy's digital and clear stamps. Some wintery gift wrap ideas to get you started on holiday gifts, (and not just Christmas!) and some cards too. Enjoy!!

ooh la la! it's november!

Goodbye Halloween! We're moving on to the holiday season! It was warm and toasty last night as we trick-or-treated, but it cooled off this morning, and it feels WONDERFUL!!! I have a card to share with the BRAND NEW November stamp set at The Stamps of Life. This set is perfect for your winter projects and Christmas cards!! I have a few cards to share with you, but I'm going to make you wait for the rest of them!!! (If you really can't stand it though, they are in the TSOL gallery!!)
I have a crying baby, a sweet potato casserole that needs to come out of the oven, a four year old needing help with a puzzle, church waiting for me to arrive, and a birthday party to finish prepping for this afternoon. SO i think i better cut this SHORT!!! Have a GREAT weekend!
