More chevrons, and a winner!

I told you I'd have exciting news today. . . .and I do!!!! If you loved those new chevron stamps from The Stamps of Life, well, then you'll REALLY super duper love the new chevron DIES from TSOL! For reals. . .these dies are such fun! Use then with the chevron stamps, or on their own - it's perfection!
Here are two little cards I made with them. . . .

Okay, this alligator cracks me up, because I had NO plans to sit down and make an alligator.  I was going to make a stripe with the green card stock, and adhere it with foam tape to the blue base.  And then as I ended up with the two pieces, I thought, "Oh my gosh, an ALLIGATOR!" Then, I had no idea what sentiment would work, and it was like PURE MAGIC when I saw this sentiment, on the turtles2love stamp set.  (I made the eye with two circle dies.)

Onward now, to my winner of the animals4prints stamp set. . . .

I asked my son to pick a number between 1 and 11, and he picked number 9. . .
RUTH G, you are the big winner!!!! :)
Thanks so much to everyone who left a sweet comment, and visited The Stamps of Life!
Have a great night!

Bright chevrons and a giveaway!

Remember how I went on vacation, and I was going to schedule posts for while I was away? Yeah well. . . .I didn't do that.  I'm home now, though, and I have some CA-UTTE stuff to show you, that I am totally excited about.
When Stephanie showed the sneak peek of this chevron set, I admit it - I GASPED.  I was so excited to get this, and play with it! Chevron patterns are SO trendy right now, and they fit right in with my love of bold bright graphic patterns.  (And if you like chevrons. . .stick around, because I have something you'll REALLY be excited about, on the 20th!)
I don't know why it seemed like such a lightbulb moment, but I suddenly realized that I could stamp the chevrons in two different colors (duh) instead of the "in between" space being only the cardstock color. So I stamped in dark blue and light blue, and I just LOVE it! I don't even care that the white shows through in a few spots. I totally did that on purpose. Totally. (snicker, snicker!)

I "stole" these last two photos from Stephanie and the TSOL website. . .because frankly, their photographs of my cards are a whole lot cuter than my plain jane images.  ;)   As you can see, I have had a TON of fun with these chevron stamps.  On this card, I used a sponge dauber and blended orange, pink, and yellow ink together. LOVE the way this turned out.  I paired it with some awesomely BRIGHT Sunshine Lemon dungaree cardstock, from Discount Cardstock.

Black and white and pink is always going to be a color combination that works.  It's just the way it is! I love it, love it, love it!

This has definitely become one of my go-to stamp sets. Another fun background stamp set that I LOVE is the animals4prints set, which features two animal prints that are perfect for jazzing up a card or project.  And. . . .happy news for YOU, Stephanie has offered up an animals4prints stamp set that I can give away to one of YOU!  Please visit The {Stamps} of Life shop, and then leave me a comment on this post to tell me one of your favorite stamp sets that you see.  And I will enter you into the giveaway!  I'll draw a random winner on Wednesday night, June 20th.  (GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.)

Shellibrate! (TSOL)

Summer is upon us! The last days of school have finally come and gone, and today is the first day of summer vacation!  I guess I officially have a SECOND GRADER. yikes.
This also means that I will be trying to NOT spend quite as much time on the computer, and I will have NOT quite as much time during the day to create.  (That two-year-old's nap time won't be quite so QUIET with a seven-year-old stomping around!)

I'd like to share a COOL card with you today.  This card was created using a Sizzix Flip It die.  The cards are kind of hard to photograph, but a lot of fun to make.  There's a great short video by Stephanie Barnard, demonstrating how they work, if you're interested!

I used the new June stamp set, called turtles2love, to create this cute turtle card.  This is the front . . .

and when you flip it, this is the inside. . ..

Fun stuff, huh!?  There will be more new stamps released on the 11th, and new dies on the 20th, from The Stamps of Life and I am SUPER excited about all of them.  We'll be traveling next week, but I'll be sure to schedule a post to remind you to check them out.  And I'll have QUITE A FEW projects to finally share with you! Hooray!
xoxo
